We know that extensions are a big investment, which come with a lot of questions. We want you to feel informed and well-prepared before making the decision to move forward with your consultation.

Before washing, brush out your extensions to remove any tangles or matting. Gently hand wash with with lukewarm water making sure not to rub the ends of the hair together. Try to shampoo between the rows without forceful scrubbing. We recommend using a sulfate-free shampoo like Kevin Murphy’s or Oribe’s.

Afterwards, gently squeeze out the excess water and blot with a cotton towel. Spray a leave-in detangler and begin brushing your extensions while they are wet. Start from the ends and work your way up towards your scalp. If you have multiple rows, section between each row and brush at the root.

Brush the extension hair out and place in a loose ponytail or braid. You want your hair to be about 90% dry to avoid any matting. Bonus tip, we recommend sleeping on a silk pillow.

Yes, but depending on where you are swimming, the minerals in certain waters can sometimes react poorly with extensions. The result can be some discoloration. We recommend that before you swim, you get your hair wet. Spray with a leave-in conditioner or saturate with a conditioning mask. Also, comb and braid your hair, or put in a tight pony or bun before entering the water. After swimming, rinse your hair immediately. An extra measure would be washing with a clarifying shampoo. Be mindful that clarifying shampoos have a drying effect on hair, so only do this in extreme situations.
